Contact the Desk

Corrections are the most useful thing you can send. A link to documentation that contradicts something published here will change the page faster than any argument about it.

Where to write

General enquiries and questions about anything on the site go to [email protected]. Corrections, disputed claims and documentation links go to [email protected], which is read with a different priority because a factual error on a page about execution arrangements can cost a reader money.

There is no contact form on this site. A form would add a script, a third-party processor and a data-handling obligation, for no benefit over an email address that works from any client you already trust.

What makes a correction actionable

Corrections are handled quickly when they are specific. The most useful message names the page, quotes the sentence, and points at the source that contradicts it. The least useful message says that a section is wrong without saying which part or why, because that leaves the work of locating the disagreement with the person least able to do it.

  • The page URL and the exact sentence in question.
  • What you believe the correct statement is.
  • A public source: documentation, a repository, an announcement, or a transaction signature.
  • Whether you want to be credited in the correction note, and under what name.

Where a correction is accepted, the page is amended and the change is described rather than applied silently. Where it is not accepted, you will get a reply explaining why, which is not the same as being ignored.

Questions we can answer

Questions about mechanism are welcome and are the source of most of the material on the questions page. If a question needs more than a paragraph, it usually turns into an article rather than a reply, so it may take a while to appear but it will appear.

Questions we cannot answer

Some requests arrive regularly and always get the same reply, so it is fairer to state them here.

  • Which router should I use. The desk does not rank execution services, for reasons set out on the about page. What it can do is tell you which disclosures to look for.
  • Why did this specific trade fill badly. A single transaction is almost never interpretable, and confident answers about one fill are usually invented.
  • Financial, tax or legal advice. Not provided, in any form, for any jurisdiction.
  • Reviews, sponsored coverage or link placement. Not available at any price, and requests are not negotiated.

For service operators

If your product is described on this site and the description is out of date, send the current documentation and the page will be updated on the same terms as any other correction. Note that the desk describes mechanisms rather than benefits, so a marketing summary is less likely to change a page than a technical specification is.

Requests to be added to a comparison will be declined, because there are no comparison or ranking pages here. Requests to remove an accurate description of a documented mechanism will also be declined.

Response times

This is a small editorial operation, not a support desk. Corrections are prioritised, questions are answered when there is something useful to say, and commercial approaches are usually not answered at all. No automated acknowledgement is sent, so a lack of instant reply does not mean the message went missing.
